May 13, 2008 Dwight Yoakam will appear on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Thursday as the talk show kicks off its seventh season of outdoor concerts. The appearance is good exposure as he continues promoting the album Dwight Sings Buck, but it also sets a record for Dwight. It will mark the 24th time hes been on the program since Jay took the reins from Johnny Carson in 1992, and it makes Dwight the artist whos given the most "Tonight Show" performances during that time. Dwights first time on the program after the change of hosts came on March 26, 1993.
